Message from the chief
Hello everyone, my name is Tony Ruesga Jr. and I am the Chief of Police of the Cross Plains Police Department. Our staff and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website.
The Village of Cross Plains is located along the Gateway to Wisconsin’s Driftless area, in western Dane County. Home to more than 3,800, Cross Plains offers exceptional recreational opportunities with the Ice Age Trail, Black Earth Creek, and several parks in and around the Village of Cross Plains. Our staff is committed to ensuring this beautiful place many call home is a safe place to live, work and visit.
This site was created to provide Cross Plains residents and visitors important information concerning your police department and public safety in our community. We wanted a place where you could learn more about the services we provide, but more importantly a place that would improve the communication between the department and the citizens we serve.
We understand that building, cultivating and maintaining the community’s trust and developing community partnerships are the key elements in our law enforcement efforts. We are committed to the ideals of "partnership-based policing," which can only be accomplished by developing close working relationships with our neighborhoods and businesses.
Please, never hesitate to involve us with your concerns. We are committed to the philosophy of community service whereby we place considerable value in responses that are preventive in nature, rather than reactive, and that engage other public agencies, the community, and the private sector in addressing concerns before they become problems. The fact is, we cannot do this job without you.
We look forward to working with you to keep Cross Plains a great place to live, work, and visit. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact the Cross Plains Police Department at (608) 798-4100.
Sincerely,
Chief Tony Ruesga Jr
