Officer Scott Kroetz
Officer Scott Kroetz began working as a Patrol Officer for the Village of Cross Plains in 1989. Prior to that, he began his career in law enforcement as an undercover officer with another agency in 1988. He is currently the most senior officer, assigned to a unique day and afternoon variable shift.
Officer Kroetz brings a unique education background to the police department: an Associate’s degree in Police Science along with being a trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Along with fulfilling his patrol duties, Officer Kroetz is involved in the community by giving public presentations on a variety of topics (drug abuse, renter/landlord rights, personal safety etc.), hosting bike rodeos, involvement with the Boy Scouts, Partnering with Northwest Dane Senior Services, and representing Cross Plains Police Department on the Northwest Dane Cares Coalition.
Outside of work, Officer Kroetz enjoys his free time with a variety of physical fitness activities: including, but not limited to biking, kickboxing, running, and other forms of training.
Unlike our other officers, Officer Kroetz was born and raised in Dane County. He enjoys the area and opportunities that are afforded to those living in the area, and has since settled in the Cross Plains area with his wife.
If you asked Officer Kroetz to explain his life and career in one line, he would say, “Grace wins every time.”
Be sure to stop and say “Hi” to Officer Kroetz when you see him!
